Wraparound Care (Breakfast and After School Provision

At our school, we understand how important it is for families to have reliable childcare before and after the school day. That’s why we offer Breakfast Club and an After‑School Club as part of our wraparound childcare provision.

Here’s what parents need to know, based on the latest national guidance.

What Is Wraparound Care?

Wraparound care is childcare that takes place before and after the normal school day, helping families who need childcare to work, study or manage busy schedules.

Our school already provides this through:

  • Breakfast Club (a safe, calm start to the day)

  • After‑School Club (fun, supervised activities until the end of the afternoon)

Why It Matters

Wraparound care helps:

  • Parents manage work and home commitments.

  • Children start the morning right—with breakfast, routine and support.

  • Children end the school day safely, with fun and enriching activities.

  • Improve attendance and reduce stress around pick‑up and drop‑off times.

What Families Can Expect From Our Wraparound Provision

We aim to make our wraparound care:

1. Safe and high‑quality

  • Staff are trained and DBS‑checked.

  • Activities are age‑appropriate, engaging and supervised.

2. Inclusive

  • We aim to support children with additional needs.

  • We work with parents to make reasonable adjustments where possible.

3. Affordable

  • We keep prices as reasonable as possible.

  • Parents may be able to use Tax‑Free Childcare or Universal Credit to help with costs (if the provider meets eligibility criteria).

4. Convenient

  • No need for parents to collect children between school time and wraparound care.

  • Smooth transition from classroom → club.

Types of Activities Children May Enjoy

Depending on the day, children may take part in:

  • Sports and outdoor play

  • Arts, crafts, games and creative activities

  • Quiet time, reading or relaxation spaces

  • Social time with peers

  • A healthy breakfast or snack (depending on the club)

How We Keep Improving

The school regularly:

  • Looks at parent feedback

  • Monitors attendance and demand

  • Reviews staffing and activities

  • Works with the local authority to ensure we meet families’ needs

How Parents Can Get Involved

You can help us by:

  • Sharing your childcare needs (hours, days, suggestions)

  • Using available government support schemes

  • Letting us know what your child enjoys

Our wraparound care is here to support your family, provide safe and enjoyable childcare, and help ensure every child gets a positive start and end to their day.
