Summer term starts | Baines' Endowed Primary School

Welcome to Class 6.

Over the next term, we will be focusing on ‘Aztecs’ in our History lessons and ‘South America’ for our geography focus.

In English, we will be focussing on: Daily literacy lesson (Y6 national curriculum objectives)

Our first text will be Sky Chasers

Fiction – Adventure story, including narrative from different viewpoints

Our second text focus will be on Shakespeare

Poetry

Pupils will be taught to: Plan their writing, Draft and write, Develop vocabulary Evaluate and edit

Maths

This term, as mathematicians, we will focus on

Position and direction

Religious Education

This term we will be looking at:

Pentecost - Serving
Reconciliation
Universal Church - World

Science
During our weekly lessons, there will be lots of opportunities for practical investigations to develop our scientific knowledge. This term, we will be focusing on: Animals Including Humans

Important Information:

PE is every Tuesday so please ensure your child come to school in their PE kits.

Homework will be given out on a Friday and should be completed by the following Friday. This will consist of Bug Club reading, times tables/ariithmetic and My Maths tasks.
Asthma inhalers/medication must be handed in to the office with the appropriate paper work and will be administered in class as necessary. You will be informed if your child has used their inhaler during the day.
