Jubilee 2025
Jubilee 2025 at St Gerard's Catholic Primary & Nursery School
We had a wonderful Jubilee year being 'Pilgrims of Hope', honouring Pope Francis' desire to foster a greater sense of global brotherhood and solidarity with the poor, as well as care for the environment.
The Jubilee Year was a special year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people were invited to come back to a relationship with God, with one another and with all of creation. They are celebrated by the Church every 25 years. A Pope can also proclaim Extraordinary Jubilees, like the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy which started in 2015 and continued through 2016. A Jubilee Year is recognised throughout the world as a significant part of the history of our faith. The Jubilee Year began on 24th December 2024 and concluded on 6th January 2026.
