Summer Term 2026

Our Learning:

English

During our English lessons, we will be focusing on two different texts, Where the Forest Meets the Sea and Julius Caesar. Children will develop their reading and writing skills through creating a non-chronological report and a playscript. 

Maths

In the Summer Term, we explore a range of topics including Decimals, Money, Time and Shape.  Over the course of the term, we will be preparing for our Multiplication Check in June 2026, building on our fluency of times tables facts using the NCETM Mastering Number programme. 

Science

In Science, we will be focusing on two topics, Living things and their habitats and What do Scientists Do? Children will be given lots of opportunties to develop their skills through observing, predicting and investigating a range of scientific enquiries. 

RE

In Year 4, we deliver the 'Getting to know You More Clearly programme.

Branch 5: To the Ends of the Earth

Branch 6: Dialogue and Encounter

We will continue with our daily Prayer and Liturgy sessions, spending time together reflecting on God's word.

Important Information

PE

In Summer Term, Class 4 will have PE 

Children should wear full school PE kit on this day.

Homework

Homework will be given each week on a Friday. This will include a Reading or SPAG based task, as well as a times tables task. 

Each child will take home a banded reading book which should be read at least 3 times at home, and sent back in each week to be changed. 

Additional Information

Asthma inhalers/medication must be handed in to the office with the appropriate paper work and will be administered in class as necessary. You will be informed if your child has used their inhaler during the day.
