African Adventure - Adinkra Patterns

We had a fantastic morning working with the brilliant artist Gill Taylor! We designed prints on polystyrene, based upon African Adinkra symbols which come from countries like Ghana in West Africa.  We rolled printing ink in different colours on top of our polystyrene print tile, then pushed hard onto a piece of paper to create beautiful prints!

Once we had created our own, Miss Taylor showed us real Adinkra printing tools that are made from a special type of African fruit, they were incredible!
